FLO License Fund Raiser

Hey everyone, thanks for taking a moment to reach out and consider Supporting this GOFUNDME effort. 

Here's what's happening. I'm blessed to have been able to open a Bar called FLO it's an adult contemporary bar for urban professionals and we've done an amazing job of creating an amazing space for people to socialize and develop a space with amazing drinks and a wonderful atmosphere. 

We've successfully generated jobs for 3 people (2 bartenders and an amazing DJ) and for the most part remained in the black (or at least the very very dark red) since we originally opened as a non-alcoholic bar in April of 2015. 

However being new to the area we were caught off guard at how the nightlife patterns of Augusta functioned in the colder months and as a result was unable to fulfill our goal of rasing the capital ($4800) to renew our Liquour License for the City of Augusta) 

I have an amazing and dedicated crew working with me that has forgone a weekly salary and have worked solely on tips in an effort to help raise the money and maintain our monthly obligations as we weather the tail end of this cold season. 

We've tried the very best that we could to do it  on our own without asking for support, but our time is up. We've been informed that we cannot open until we resolve this issue. 

We're very proud of the fact that we've already got the support of some of our close friends and family to help raise the funds. We were committed to doing as much of this on our own before reaching out to our extended FLO Family, Or Facebook Family and all of our good friends like YOU who have watched our journey over this past 10 months. 

We know how much FLO means to so many of you, a place where you feel safe, appreciated, and welcomed. We're so proud of all the wonderful ratings we've recieved since we opened, it lets us know that  in many regards we are doing a lot of things right. We also know how important it is to YOU to see a business like this remain as a permanent fixture in downtown Augusta. What it means to the community and the example it sets on a larger scale. 

So here is our ask. 
$5,000 to be used in the following ways.
$4,000 to pay for the Liquor License (Richmond County) and any unforseen filing fees
$1000 to cover Sales and Usage taxes 

We're coming to the table with $1,700 of our own capital that we've managed to put aside. We are currently looking forward to hearing back from some of our first call folks to see what else that brings. (we'll keep you updated) 

We are firm believers in the notion that a journey of a thousand miles begins with 1 step. Via facebook alone FLO as a bar celebrates over 1500 followers. Kim Sharpton (the owner) enjoys a robust 4.900 friends and a multitude of followers on his personal page. That means.. if we all lift a little .. no one has to lift a lot. 

We're hoping for an angel doner to swoop down and gift us with a huge sum to help move the process along quickly, however we are confident in the $100, $50, $20, and $10 donations moving the needle forward just as well in a collective effort.
