Hello all!

In May of 2015 a Shorewood mother, Rebecca, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Unfortunately by the time they discovered her lung cancer, the cancer had metasticized to her bones, mainly her spine and hip. Her doctors have shared that Rebecca’s cancer is terminal with a prognosis of a few years.

Despite this illness, Rebecca also has two wonderful children that attend the Troy School District in Plainfield, IL. Her youngest is a 2nd grader at Troy Heritage Trail, and her oldest, a 5th grader at William B. Orenic Intermediate School.

Along with this terrible disease, the family has experienced an additional setback and are now forced to find a new home. Due to her cancer diagnosis, Rebecca has been unable to work since May, making it difficult to provide for her family.

The teachers at Troy Heritage Trail are hoping to make a difference. They are raising money to help offset medical bills and treatment expenses, rent for a new home, and other expenses that occur when having two young girls.

Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. Please find it in your heart to help this deserving family.

Along with this page, a  fundraiser is planned on Friday, February 12th at Moe Joe’s in downtown Plainfield, beginning at 5:00.
