Emergency surgery for Charlie
Donation protected
Hi my name is Carolin and I’m Charlie mom.
Saturday morning Charlie woke up in the early morning hours vomiting about 10 - 12 times and was feeling pretty sick over all. I rushed him to the vet where they gave him fluids and anti nausea medication and he stayed for monitoring. He seemed to be doing better that afternoon and was released to come back home with us. But in the middle of the night he started feeling really sick again and continued vomiting. We rushed him back to the ER vet where he still is right now.
After multiple X-rays and supportive care his veterinarian suggested exploratory surgery since he saw a shadow on on of his X-rays that looked suspicious. Of course I agreed because Charlie was in very bad shape. He was in a lot of pain and couldn’t even keep water down. Surgery was successful and the vet removed a hard plastic object that was twisted in his colon.
I went to visit him late last night after we woke up from anesthesia but he was still in pain and very much out of it. I’m hoping for good news this morning and will visit him him again as soon as I’m allowed to.
The current estimates are close to $10000 and we are just drowning in vet bills. Charlie had a 3 day hospital stay back in February when he was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer which was also extremely expensive.
Charlie has been an amazing foster brother to many puppies and even some kittens over the years. Currently his biggest challenge is raising his human sister! He is so loved and just an all around good boy! I hate to be asking for money but if you have anything to spare we would be so appreciative! Thank you very!
