Protect My Kids: Help Their Mom in Legal Fight

Hello, My name is Jelanie Neff, and I’m a mother of three young children—one of whom is autistic and will need lifelong care and support. I’m reaching out with humility and hope, asking for help as I face an unexpected legal battle that is putting my future—and my children's stability—at risk. Several years ago, during a difficult time in my life, I applied for support services provided by Union County as a single mothers facing hardship. As part of that process, I submitted all of my documentation—including my Permanent Resident (Green) Card, which clearly showed that I am not a U.S. citizen. Despite this, I was registered to vote. I later received a voter registration card in the mail and, having trusted the system, I had no reason to question it. Now, I am being charged with a felony offense related to that registration—a mistake that was not mine, but one I am now being forced to carry the weight of. This has been incredibly overwhelming. I am currently involved in an open legal case and need proper legal representation to protect my rights and ensure I receive fair treatment. My greatest fear is being separated from my children, especially my autistic child who depends on me for daily care and stability.
