A Home for Baby George

Hi, we are Pete & Kate and we are raising funds for our friends Tal and Hannah, and their baby boy, George, who is due in March.

Tal has served in the Royal Air Force for 34 years, and Hannah is a forensic entomologist. This lovely couple got married in September 2022 and were over the moon when they discovered that Hannah was pregnant about 5 months ago. Tal and Hannah bought a small, neglected property about 3 years ago, which they have been gradually renovating ever since, with Tal doing most of the work himself in order to keep costs down. They were planning on having all of the interior works completed by this Christmas, and the exterior works finished by 2025. Sadly, in early October life took a very unwanted turn.

After suffering abdominal and back pains Tal saw his doctor, and within the week had been diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer that had already metastasised to his liver and lymph nodes. It is inoperable and the outlook for this type of cancer is extremely poor. We are all praying for a miracle, and hope that Tal will see his baby boy born in March.

Tal started a palliative chemotherapy and pain control regime on the 31st of October and is therefore no longer able to carry on renovating their home, with much work still remaining. We have been able to reach out and find some wonderful people in the construction & decorating industries who are keen to get involved and help finish the works as soon as possible, so that Tal can relax in a stress-free environment whilst he undergoes his chemotherapy, and Hannah and her baby have a home for the future. They are willing to stop current construction projects to prioritise Tal and Hannah’s home, and to do so at very heavily discounted rates, however, their workers will still need to be paid. To that end we urgently need to raise up to £20,000 as soon as possible, which will enable them to complete all internal works in approximately 3 weeks - just in time for Tal, Hannah, and their unborn baby, George, to spend some quality time together this Christmas.
