Jules started her infamous journey several years ago. A bungled surgery aimed at correcting an Atrial
Fibrillation problem with her heart began a chain of unfortunate events. Doctors opened up her chest two more
times and were unsuccessful in correcting the valve problem. Due to her heart issue, Jules began to experience
complications in other major areas. Jules had a lung removed and her kidneys began failing. She is now on
dialysis 3 times a week. The many pain meds she takes have caused problems with her liver and stomach. On
February 2, Jules’ breathing was so distressed she wound up in cardiac intensive care at Columbia St. Mary's.
After about 2 weeks and a mostly liquid diet they moved Jules to a Chicago transplant hospital to start screening
process for a heart and lung transplant. While on the cardiac cath table, she fell off and had to get stitches. They
determined she was not a good candidate for a heart transplant and after about 3 1/2 weeks in Chicago she was
sent back to Columbia St Mary's. She was eventually released about 7 week after she arrived. She is getting her
strength back and hopes to lead the best life she can from this point on!
Jules is a fun-loving person who consistently puts the needs of others before herself. This has been
demonstrated by her work with the Turkey Club and the Hunger Task Force. Jules has shown that people in
need require our help any chance we get. Now the tables have turned and Jules needs our help.

Jules has worked two jobs + since I have known her,- without those, times are tough financially.   Jules  is a giver, hard worker, and funnier than anyone I have ever known.  Always seeing the brighter side of life.   Let us give her that now ~   a little sunshine......... I cannot think of anyone more deserving.  We need to take this burden off of her shoulders ,  someone who has eased the burdens of so many.........  We Love You Jules.       ~beth & the gang.
