Hi my name is Joshua love and I'm a mathematics major, math, and physics tutor at Palomar college. Recently I've run into financial trouble admits and partly due to the chaos of Covid-19 that has placed my living situation in jeopardy. Currently, I am technically homeless; though, I am not without a place to stay and I am actively pursuing housing alternatives either through 211 or Spangler Realty. I have anywhere from 2-3 weeks to await the news of my applications, but the pieces are in order. Also, currently, I've depleted my savings and checking account and have been without basic amenities such as food and phone service. Furthermore, I could not get either opportunity of residency through 211 or Spangler Realty, so I will need the first and last for rent. I am working for the Palomar Math center, STEM center, and Mathnasium Vista, so I can afford a monthly rent. I cannot afford a deposit and associated rental fees as well as have a working phone. To add, I'm moving to Arizona to attend the University of Arizona next year, so I don't need a permanent solution in San Diego, or a terribly large contribution, so $1,000 would be enough to plug most of the gaping holes in my sinking ship. This contribution would keep my ambition of getting a PhD in mathematics from being derailed too badly or for too long. Thus, the money will go toward a deposit and my phone bill.
