Kim Vs Cancer

 

 

I have written and re-written the opening line to this message repeatedly! Nothing sounds right! That makes perfect sense because I'm writing about my only brother, Rita & Gerry's son, Fay's husband, Savanah & Tuckers dad Chris' brother-in-law, Avalon's Uncle and CANCER in the same sentence. So, I will stop trying to think of an eloquent way to deliver this message and just lay out the goods.

 

My brother, Kim Leiske, was diagnosed three years ago with stage 4 colorectal cancer. For the first couple of years, you wouldn't have known that he was sick, even with the advanced stage of this cruel disease. But that's Kim, tough as nails and determined as hell to win.

 

Kim opened fire with both barrels as far as treatment; Chemo, Radiation (the obvious ones), immunotherapy drug trials, acupuncture, eastern medicine and even a trip to Columbia to experience plant medicine ceremonies and work with a world-renowned Shaman, Taita Juanito. Sounds like Kim, right? NO...STONE...LEFT...UNTURNED.

 

So here we are three years of treatment later, and his body is saying no thanks to any more Western medicine.

 

When we lived on the farm in Saskatchewan, if one of the neighbours were in distress for whatever reason, broken bones, illness, grief, the village would surround that family. They would show up, bring their trucks and combines, take off their crop at harvest, bring food and manpower, feed the livestock, and stand in place for that family who temporarily required aid.

 

We're not on the farm ready with the grain trucks, but we can be a cyber version of the farm village to stand for Kim and Fay.

 

Many of you have asked, "How can I help? What can I do?"

 

So here is the plan. The goal is to get Kim feeling better. The immediate aim is to reduce his pain and rebuild his body's strength so that he can handle more treatment. To achieve our goals ,treatments have been researched and recommended by trusted advisors  to help the body release blockages and create space for healing, such as energy work, Access Bars, acupuncture, massage and other integrative  therapies administered in the home by wellness practitioners.  When the recommended treatments are combined with the use of equipment such as  Biomat and Bemer PEMF technology results  can be enhanced.  As a side note it is a common medical practice in many other parts of the world to encourage patients undergoing aggressive medical treatments to care for their body/mind in such way and even paid for in some situations because quite simply, it works.  

 

Kim has already started some of the treatments with promising results.

 

When Kim has regains some of his strength the next step is to travel to a cancer treatment facility called https://chipsahospital.org/ to undergo an intense 3 week treatment that has the potential to add precious time and bring back  quality to his life.   Fay will need to travel with him.

 

Medical Insurance doesn't cover any of these treatments, and when you cannot work, there is an added layer of stress that is NOT helpful in the healing process.
