Support Jay’s Fight Against Heart Failure

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, kindhearted strangers,

Jay is a 24-year-old beloved friend, family member, and compassionate person who has been facing overwhelming and unexplained medical challenges with his heart.

In March 2024, Jay suffered an idiopathic blood clot that caused a severe widowmaker heart attack that required emergency surgery, multiple hospital stays, and ongoing medical care. Despite his strength and determination, the financial burden has become insurmountable.

Jay’s Medical Journey

On the night of his heart attack, Jay was rushed to the ER, where he was immediately prepped for surgery. Doctors found the severe blockage in the left anterior descending artery, requiring a stent placement to restore blood flow. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and an unknown blood clotting disorder, with an ejection fraction of just 33%—far below the normal range of 55-70%. He was then monitored for days and tested for any known predispositions with no luck as to finding the culprit. Since then, he has endured:

-Four hospital visits, including a 3-day stay for additional complications

-Cardiovascular rehabilitation to strengthen his heart

-Multiple cardiologist, oncologist, and hematologist visits

-Specialized medications, some of which cost up to $500 per month

Jay’s insurance policy has made many of these treatments unaffordable, either by denying coverage or drastically increasing out-of-pocket costs. His copays alone have been as high as $2,000, and the total accumulated medical debt is nearing $20,000-$25,000. Additionally, due to the recent federal hiring freeze and massive budget cuts, the future of Jay’s current career in conservation has become unpredictable and increasingly uncertain.

How You Can Help-

We are setting a goal to raise $25,000 to cover Jay’s medical bills and ensure he continues receiving the treatment and medications he needs to survive and recover. This amount will help:

-Pay off current medical debt ($15,000+)

-Fund ongoing prescriptions, doctor visits, and necessary tests ($5,000+)

-Cover lifestyle adjustments and future unexpected hospital visits

Jay has always been someone who supports those around him. Jay has ambitions of pursuing a career in emergency medicine by planning to attend paramedic and nursing school to help those in need. Now, he needs us. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in his life. If you can’t contribute financially, please share this campaign—spreading the word is just as valuable!
