Our band Bluebloods is revving up to release our first full-length album and tour it this summer and fall. We're thrilled!
We've spent years collaborating with other creatives to build a project that's international in scope but stubbornly Manitoban. For Discount Everything to thrive in the world we have to promote it as vigorously as we've produced it. But we're finding that we're a little short on cash to market the album.
Bluebloods started by self-funding this 11-track LP. (The YouTube link above includes about half the record.) Then came some generous backers (Canada Council for the Arts and Manitoba Arts Council). However, rising Canadian acts often face a big issue: lack of promotional resources in the music industry's commercial sphere. Making it all the more challenging to mount a robust marketing campaign that stands out in today's saturated online space.
So empower Manitoban music. Toss a few bills into the proverbial hat and join the band in firing this record to the moon.
(Also: note that GoFundMe has a default "tip" of 17.50%. That goes directly to GoFundMe, but you don't need to pay that.)
Thank you!
BB

Who are Bluebloods? A "rural R&B" trio (vocalist Courtney Fox, bassist Sam Little, guitarist/electronics Conrad Sweatman) whose cheeky name refers to Manitoba’s noble blue-collar lineage and the subarctic ice running through its veins. Discount Everything is a follow-up to their shorter EP, Make It Rain, which earned a four-star review in the Winnipeg Free Press.
With Discount Everything, our Winnipeg-based band pursued an ambitious, cross-genre sound inspired by baroque pop like Sgt Pepper's that employed virtually dozens of guest collaborators from here to Toronto. Everyone from rapper CJ the Grey from Cross Lake Manitoba and composer-arranger Glenn Buhr, to other top-notch musicians like members of Mac DeMarco's band, BadBadNotGood and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
