Shop with a Cop - 2022

Throughout the year, law enforcement officers encounter children in horrible and sometimes dangerous conditions that are in need of the basic essentials of life. During the holidays, these children will not have an opportunity to enjoy the holiday cheer, provide gifts for their mom or dad, brothers and sisters. Because we are honored to serve those we protect, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) founded the Flagler Sheriff’s Children Charities (FSCC) to support positive interactions between children and law enforcement officers through Shop with a Cop event. The members of our team proudly  hosted the 2021 Shop with a Cop on December 10, 2021 at Walmart. More than 125 diverse children participated, each receiving a $175.00 gift card and many “chaperons” used their own money to cover the full cost of the items selected. The men and women of FCSO make donations from their paychecks all year long to Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities to support our children. Shop with a Cop allows the ability to take children shopping during the December holidays so that children can have a happy holiday, no matter their personal situation. The children selected come from those children in need that deputies encounter throughout the year and by referrals from our School Resource Deputies. Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charity is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 and was established in 2020 to help children in our community.
