Help rebuild the farm
Donation protected
Like so many others, Ivy Creek Family Farm experienced heavy losses when Hurricane Helene flooded the fields and buildings here. The small creek that runs through the farm turned into a raging, rushing river and took out our bridge, the majority of our fall crops, and our irrigation and tool buildings plus everything in them. The waters and mud severely damaged our barn and our walk in cooler. We lost thousands of pounds of crops, seventeen years worth of custom-made tools, over 3,000 dahlia tubers, and our most valuable asset, our top soil. In the place of the soil are craters and holes and so many thousands of rocks.
We want to rebuild. We want the farm stand to feed our community again. We want to once again deliver our food to the local food pantry. We hope to return to our tailgate markets in 2025. Most of all, we want our vegetables to reach the people who have come to love them over the past 17 years we've been working this land.
We have made good progress, but the problems and repairs here are layered. I've come to understand we cannot do it without help. That's where you come in. Please help us repair the barn and walk in cooler and build back an irrigation system. With your help I know we can get back to doing what we do best- growing great food for great people.
