Sage's Struggle

Donation protected
I am starting this fundraising campaign on behalf of my brother-in-law and his family. I am doing so because he would never ask for anything like this, from anyone. So I am doing this for them.
I have known Bobby for fifteen years, since his sister stole my heart, and he has grown into a very upstanding man. He always puts his family and friends needs before his own. He's the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He has the biggest heart and is selfless in time of need. He has always been a hard worker. His latest employment is logging which entails long hard hours. He loves it though. He is very much the outdoorsman. I love the smell of the fresh cut wood and fresh air when he comes to visit. Even though he's my younger brother-in-law, I look up to and admire him. He is a role model.
He married his best friend Jade, and together, they have raised two beautiful daughters, my nieces, Gemma and Sage. Jade stays at home and cares for Gemma while Sage is in school. She makes hand knit hats and toques to pull an income. They also do arts and crafts together, get outdoors for exercise, and make healthy dinners and snacks for the family. She does all this AND is furthering her education as well. I commend her for her devotion and hard work. You are a great mother Jade. My hat goes off to you. I love you.
So..... the meat and potatoes. The real deal. The scoop. The issue.
A couple months back, my niece Sage needed some professional help. After trying to get a diagnosis locally, they needed to seek help from somewhere else. They were referred to specialists in Vancouver. What was supposed to be a relatively quick visit, has turned into a long, stress filled, emotional, and trying two months. They have been staying at the Ronald McDonald house so they are close to the children's hospital. They have both been fantastic in caring and supporting my family. After numerous tests and a plethora of different medications, they are narrowing down her rare medical condition. Jade has blogged about this so I will post a link to it if you would like to read more.
After two weeks of having his family so far away, with the weekend being the only times he could visit, Bobby had to quit his job. I can't imagine what he was going through. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be able to concentrate at work either. Having your family so far away with nothing but phone calls connecting you. To hear the fret and worry in your wife's voice as she tells you "they still don't know anything" or "they're going to try this and that" as if your first born was a guinea pig would be devastating. His family needs him there for his strength and support, especially Sage.
Having to drop everything, and I mean everything, for Bobby to be with his family, has a price. The bills still have to get paid. The banks don't really care about personal situations. They still want their money. With both Bobby and Jade stopping everything to look after their daughter, there is little to no money coming in.
This is the part where I reach out, to you, for help. Every little bit will help. They need to keep on their bills so they don't lose anything. Once they are back on their feet and back home, things can get back to somewhat normal. Adjustments will have to be made of course, but with your help, they can focus on Sage instead of trying to play catch up and "call the collectors". Those 'games' suck.  So I thank you in advance for any and all your help. Take care.
