Hey everyone, my name is Holly, and on the 26th of June, my 2 girls, my fiancee Brian, and I will be homeless. We are currently trying to fight this, but as of now have the 25 now 24 days and we’re out in the street as of the moment.   We fell behind on our rent last year 2022 because at the time, we were paying, although not as much as ours, taking care full time of someone else’s bills(family who had to move to care facility but didn’t want to sell the home) and home as well as our bills and home. We start to fall behind taking care of rent on our home in March.  Then July 2022 comes, we’re offered to buy the home at 900k+ by family because they want us to have the house, which we obviously couldn’t afford, so we are told we have until the end of august to move out and that was even after having conversations to get the deadline extended, so the home we were paying the bills for, can be sold to pay for the family members care.  We move back to our home.    Unfortunately because we fell months behind, we were getting sued by the Starlight Mobile Home Park that we live in. We in the end October were told we were served in august(we were back in our home before the docs date stamp), never ever received it, we were also served something from certified mail, which I assume was court date but still have no clue what it’s for, which they have their receipt, but has no signatures from us on it, we never signed anything on our end nor were we handed anything to sign from a delivery carrier.    We were able to hire a lawyer (Craig Fagan) and paid him 2500 to submit a response and whatever else comes with filing, finally in December, to negotiate a payment plan and we were fine with it and told him send it, so we thought one was done, but come January we find out from our attorney that he’s dropping us with no warning other than, in his words, “you deal with the park lawyer yourself.” No other explanation, still never told us he never filed a response. Since January, and the months after we have tried to get new legal representation with no one able to help. We have over and over again contacted the park, HR, and their attorney, to make payments, with no response. Nothing, ever, like they didn’t exist. We now on the 11th of this month, were served a lockout for the 24th. We then tried once again for an attorney only to find EVERYONE is booked up, there are a lot of ppl struggling right now. We did get some counsel on how to file an appeal and got that set up though and of course, once we called their layer to say we’re trying to appeal, the lawyer will show up to contest. We got a court date for the 25th, only to be told in court that because no response was submitted like we thought it had been, that they filed the motion to evict, and because we couldn’t come up with the back rent AND all of the court fees right then and there, they are TAKING our home away from us as compensation instead, but the lawyer was so kind enough to give us the 30 days because she felt “bad”. Please, I’m asking, I’m begging, if you can please help me raise the funds, every penny goes to pay the back rent and court costs to help us save our home and start over fresh to just survive.  We were told we wouldn’t be put in this situation by individuals we thought we could trust, and yet now we have been, and then brushed aside like we don’t exist. Please, we are fighting tooth and nail to save our home, this has been a year long struggle of trying to work with the park and them doing absolutely nothing to work with us. We’re exhausting 211 resources, we’re contacting all local entities that we can. We have no legal help and almost no options. We have the kids taken care of thanks to family, but that doesn’t solve the whole problem obviously. We’re backed into a really tight corner, and I’m just please asking if you can share this, donate, if you know a lawyer who can help us pro bono stop this, if you are a lawyer who will help us, reach out. It’s been so hard this past year, financially, emotionally, health wise, we’ve been trying so hard to stay afloat, we were taken advantage of by people we thought we could trust and help, and now we are days away from losing everything because of it. *updated to add more detailed Info*
