Hi, my name is Sammie Jo Cunnane, the (fiancée of Jasper Connolly) and I have started this fundraiser in memory of Alex Connolly (Schneider) who sadly passed away on the 26th of December 2024 from stage 4 lung cancer.

Alex was an amazing, altruistic person who helped so many during her life from the people she met briefly to those she supported in her work at Mind and as a grief counsellor. She was an incredible artist, and all round creative and imaginative soul who will be remembered by so many I'm sure.

This is an effort to raise money for Alex's funeral and wake. Unfortunately myself and Jasper are chronically ill and are not currently working so our budget is extremely tight.

She did not make any plans for these things as, in true Alex fashion, she did not want too much of a fuss. Those closest to her, however, would like to show her how much she meant to us all and give her the funeral she deserves.

We are not planning anything extravagant but it will be beautiful and unique just like Alex with eco friendly and local choices made where possible to honour her efforts with reducing her carbon footprint.

The funeral is on January 29th at Stafford Crematorium, which is the start of the lunar New year for those born in the year of the wood snake, as Alex was.

Any donation at all is greatly appreciated. Also if you have any artwork perhaps or writing that meant something to you and Alex please let us know and we can try to incorporate it into the service or wake.
