Help Arif Recover from a Devastating Accident
Donation protected
On June 6th, my 27-year-old cousin Arif's life was forever changed. While riding home with his friend, a 10,000lb truck ran over his right arm. As his friends, who sustained minor injuries, tried to call an ambulance, the truck driver drove away, leaving Arif with a catastrophic injury.
Arif underwent long hours of surgery, during which orthopedic surgeons repaired his dislocated elbow, and a plastic surgeon managed to repair his artery. Even the plastic surgeon, with years of experience, described it as one of the worst de-gloving injuries he had ever seen. Given his young age and having three intact nerves, Arif met the medical criteria for limb-saving surgery. He underwent another extensive reconstructive surgery, in addition to many smaller surgeries. He still requires more procedures as doctors continue to battle the infection.
Arif is a humble, self-made young man who has always worked incredibly hard. Due to financial problems, he had to drop out in the final year of his engineering program. He took on various odd jobs, learned to code, and started tutoring high school students to support himself and his family. He hoped to finish his degree one day but already had loans to pay. He had just secured a new job a few months before this tragedy shattered his aspirations and dreams.
Besides the physical and mental trauma, Arif is also overwhelmed by mounting medical bills. Despite the support from friends and family, he still needs help to cover ongoing expenses for recurring surgeries, intensive wound care, and basic necessities. With ongoing infections, he might end up having his dominant arm amputated, which would require an artificial limb and further increase his medical expenses.
There is hope to save Arif's dominant arm and help him rebuild his life. We pray for his recovery and, with your generous support, he can find the courage and perseverance to overcome this life-altering obstacle.
Please donate to help Arif on his journey to recovery. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Thank you for your kindness and support.
