Getting my green card

Donation protected

Hello (: My name is Cielo Wilson and I currently am a Junior at Washington State University studying Human Development. I graduated from Tumwater high school and graduated from South Puget Sound with  my Associates in Arts in 2017.

I currently only have a couple weeks to come up with the funds for my application, the lawyers are working hard to get my application turned in before I turn 21. Time is not my friend right now but I am doing my best to make sure it goes through, I do have job but it is only part time and isn't enough to cover these cost. ANYTHING helps, even a simple share will help me. I am very appreciative to anyone that reads/donates to my cause and I couldn't thank you enough.

My story:

I was brought to the United States when I was about 2 years old, my mother and I came on a k-12 visa while at the time she was getting married to a U.S citizen. We went back to Mexico before our visa ever expired in 2003 and we haven’t been able to go back since. A little after arriving to the United States my mother got into a messy divorce. Thus her not realizing that our visas where expiring at the time. She went years not knowing what to do and me never understanding what it meant to be undocumented. During my junior year of high school I started applying to colleges and going on tours. Once I finally chose the college of my dreams (WSU) I started the FAFSA application. Once I entered my now expired social security number it was saying that my name and social were not valid. I stared getting lost and had to make phone calls to some people at WSU and figure out what was happening. When asked where I was born I said Mexico they told me I had to apply for WASFA and that it was the same thing as FAFSA just different because I’m undocumented. Once I realized that WASFA only covered tuition I found out that I wasn’t going to be able to afford a dorm and that I had to find an apartment, making my transition to college hard and confusing. I didn’t know what I gotten myself into coming to WSU but I’m glad because I met the crimson group who has given me my second family and had helped me in many ways possible. One of the ways they have helped in is providing free immigration lawyers on campus. Before coming to WSU I was trying to figure out how to fix my status and went to two lawyers who didn’t really try anything. I applied for a passport because that’s what my lawyer at the time wanted me to do, and I got denied. Anyways the lawyers from the University of Idaho have been working EFFORTLESSLY on my case for about two years and they have finally find out how I can apply.  My case was unique because of the way I was brought in by my step-dad and other reasons. Now with the time being so short, only having a month to get this process done before my 21st I don’t have the time to raise the money myself and I am not wanting my mom to struggle with trying to pay all this off. The cost of the application for a residency/green card is very expensive. I am asking for any kind of donation I can receive. Really anything helps at this point, getting my status fixed would mean I could go visit my family that I haven’t seen in 13 years, and being able to get me dream job after I graduate with my bachelors in Human Development.

Thank you for reading my story and GO COUGS.
