Help Support the Eldridge Family
Donation protected
In October 2023, Mark Eldridge, loving husband to Julie and devoted father to Ryan, Sarah, Katie, and Emily was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a terminal neurodegenerative disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Whether you know Mark from his time in Kentucky, Cincinnati, or North Canton, we all know his quiet commitment to others, especially his family and friends. Mark’s children are his greatest joy. Whether cheering them on at their various activities, making memories on vacation, taking them golfing, or cooking his latest recipes for the family, Mark has been a constant presence in their lives.
Now, Mark faces the fight of his life. ALS is a rare neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. It results in the progressive loss of voluntary muscle control. Given that there are really no significant treatments available, life expectancy is typically 2-5 years from diagnosis.
Obviously, this is devastating news for the family and all of us who know and love them. The financial burden of ALS treatment is significant. As Mark focuses on his health and precious time with his family, we want to ensure he and Julie don’t have to worry about the financial strain.
Donations will go towards:
* Medical bills and treatment costs
* Home modifications to accommodate his changing needs (currently in a two-story home)
* Assistive technology, equipment and in-home care
* Wheelchair Accessible Van
* Loss of income
* Future expenses
Anything over and above what is needed for Mark's care will be allocated to an education fund for his four children, Ryan, Sarah, Katie, and Emily. Any equipment purchased will be paid forward to other ALS victims.
Please consider donating to this campaign and sharing it with your friends and family. Together, we can make a difference, and help Mark and his family navigate this challenging journey.
