Help Amanda fight cancer
Donation protected
In January, Amanda O'Briant, our dear friend, mother, midwife, and spouse, was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer after a routine screening colonoscopy. Thankfully, her surgeons and oncologists at Duke are very hopeful about her prognosis. However, it will be a long year of treatment. She is currently undergoing cycles of chemotherapy for 3 months. She will then need liver surgery in May or June, another 3 months of chemo, and then colon surgery in the fall.
Her strength and positivity in facing this diagnosis are inspiring.
She is hoping to work as much as she can throughout her treatment course. She's a badass who has run marathons and ultramarathons. However, chemotherapy is taking its toll, and she will have to be out of work for quite some time during her surgeries. She is the primary breadwinner for their family of five. Her wife, Liz, currently works part time, and they have three children, Liam, Hazel, and Corinne.
Their family could really use our help with medical bills and loss of income while she is going through treatment. Funds donated will go towards her medical care and help supplement lost income for basic living expenses.
Please help support Amanda in any way you can.
