Treatment help

Hello Everyone

As some of the people close to us know my husband has been diagnosed with NF2(Neurofibromatosis type 2) in October 2022 this means that tumors are currently growing along the nerves for his hearing. This diagnosis is causing hearing loss, it will eventually affect his balance and possibly eye sight as it continues to grow and also affects his quality of life and his life expectancy. Recently after his last MRI (august 2023) it showed another tumor has developed in the center region of his brain in between both brain sides.

After countless and I mean countless of hours of research and visiting doctors here in Alberta we have found a place called Mayo Clinic.They have done extensive research on NF2 and have surgery options that could possibly save the hearing nerve and any remaining nerves that the tumors have encased, unlike the surgeon in Calgary who waits till the tumor is large and just takes the nerves and tumor out completely, anyways with it being in the States it requires funding as getting insurance to cover this is extremely difficult.
