Cooper's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Over the week of October 12th, Jenna and Dustin Stier had noticed a significant change with their 12 year old son, Cooper. His weight had dramatically decreased, and he was tired and sleeping all the time. They made the decision to take Cooper in for a doctors appointment. At the doctor's, they were instructed to go straight to UW Children's Emergency Department. He was hooked up to IV's and fluids were started. Around 3:30 PM, they were moved into the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where they stayed until Saturday October 17th. They were then moved into the UW Children's Hospital, General Care Unit, where they stayed until Monday October 19th. In just these few days, their entire lives were turned upside down when Cooper was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. Although they are relieved to have a diagnosis, Cooper's diagnosis is a life long journey, that will have continual medical needs.
As many of you know, Jenna owns a hair salon, and Dustin recently changed jobs, from being an independent contractor to working for a local construction company. Due to these factors, the Stier family's health coverage was lost and they are not eligible to open enroll until November 1, 2020. Therefore, they are responsible to pay all of their hospital bills out of pocket.
For those of you who don't know Jenna, she is the most kind hearted, generous, amazing friend, wife, woman and mother we know. Her dedication to her family and friends is above and beyond anything that we could have asked for in a friend. She is the first person to jump in and help when you're in need, or to listen if you have a problem, or to just come and hang out if you need someone there. She is the most dedicated mother we have ever seen. The love that she has for her family shows by the way her children love and adore her unconditionally.
Now, it is our time to help this beautiful family by easing the burden of these enormous medical expenses. Anything you are willing to donate to help would be greatly appreciated. We also ask you please share this link to reach as many people as we can.
Thank you in advance,
Renee Walsh and Sheri Lassahn
