Hello. My name is Emmett, and I'm the father of 3 young children. I need help paying my rent. I fell on hard times recently because of falling ill with COVID and not being able to work. My girls and their mother also got COVID; my girls twice when they were with their mother, and again with another respiratory infection. I needed to be home with my daughters as everyone recovered.

My apt manager has been kind and allowed me some time to catch up, but just when I was able to get back to work, I got injured by a fall while working: lumbar strain and contusion of the coccyx. These have severely affected my sciatic nerves to the point of barely being able to walk, sit, and stand. I need to use a cane to walk. A walker and crutches weren't recommended because of the way my body contorts to help move with the pain.

I work in the ABA field, but I am not able to run, squat, or physically restrain. These are key elements of my job working with students with severe autism as at any given second, I will have to do all of these things. Squatting is a mainstay. Because of these injuries, I'm not able to work until I heal enough to do light duty.

I work very hard for my family, and it has affected me emotionally not being able to keep this part of our lives managed after my injury. I humbly ask that you please help me reach my goal to pay the back rent I owe so that my children and I aren’t evicted. Thank you very much.
