At the end of February 2019 we(my daughter and I) rescued two puppies from what I believe was a mill/poor breeding situation. The little boy was born without eyes and the little girl a supposed innocent heart murmur both mini golden doodles from the same litter born December 25, 2018. My Veterinarian wanted to have Paisley the little girl seen by a Cardiologist to make sure it was safe for her to undergo anesthesia for her routine spay surgery. Well today was the day and we were horrified to find she had a PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriousus) which causes left sided congestive heart failure. I’m a veterinary assistant so I was able to be with her today while they were completing the ultrasound. I knew going in this was worst case scenario. When I heard those words my heart just ached. Having to think of losing her in the next year if we can’t have her surgery completed is the hardest thing I have had to swallow. The Cardiologist stated we must get the surgery in the next 4 months or it will be to late. We love her so much and can’t think of our lives without her, and she is her brother eyes. They are so attached to each other. The surgery is normally in the $7,000-$12,000 range. The cardiologist stated he would complete the surgery for us for $5,000. I at best can come up with $2,000 of the $5,000 needed. Our family is asking for any help that anyone can donate to us. Please know that we will pay it forward whether it be rescuing others and caring for them or donating when we have the funds available. The $2,000 we will be spending will put us in a place where the care of our others animals will need to be put off for a little bit but we will do anything we can to save her life.
