Steve Thompson was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in July 2022 at the young age of 59. With this fast-moving and aggressive cancer and its metastasizing to multiple organs, he and his medical team have determined that treatments will not provide substantial benefit and he is now in the incredible care of the hospice of team.

Steve is a beloved community member of the village of Senecaville, Ohio. He has served and protected the residents for decades by working as the Marshall, Park Ranger, and with his most recent stint as director of public safety. Some even refer to him as “Mr. Senecaville.” He truly has dedicated his life to making it a safe and happy place to live. Steve is the kind of person you want in your life, as he would give the shirt off his back to anyone that deserved it. He is a great person with a big heart!

He has owned and operated Thompson Family Motors for over 20 years. Shutting down his business has been one of the toughest things he has had to do. He has helped thousands of families over the years to get great, dependable vehicles. He truly is not ready to say goodbye to all the wonderful people he’s met on his journey!

As many may have seen, Steve recently posted a video discussing his situation and to thank everyone for support. Many people have asked how they can help, and at this point his biggest stress is his finances as closing the business was not in his near-term plan. Debbie, his wife of 39 years, has been a school bus driver for nearly 30 years for rolling hills and is equally the most generous and kind person! The family would love for them to spend the little time he has left together without worrying!
