My name is Shaista Amani, and I have worked with nonprofits supporting the Afghan community for the past several years. During this time, I have assisted countless families, but I have never organized a private fundraiser for a family — until now. Seeing the Karimi family’s situation has truly broken my heart, and I feel compelled to help them during this unimaginable time.
Abdul Aziz Karimi was a loving husband, devoted father, and a hardworking man who came to this country to provide a better life for his family. For over four years, he worked at the DeKalb Farmers Market, and most recently as an Uber driver, always putting his family’s needs first. Aziz passed away tragically and unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife and five young children.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, the funeral expenses have already been covered, but the family now faces ongoing financial challenges. His wife is the sole provider, doing everything she can to care for her children while covering rent, utilities, and daily necessities. Despite her strength and determination, the family is in urgent need of support to meet these long-term needs and provide stability for the children.
We are asking for your compassion and generosity to help the Karimis through this difficult period. Every donation will go directly to the family to support their ongoing living expenses and help them rebuild their lives. Your support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and their mother, honoring the memory of Aziz and the love he gave so selflessly.
