Update # 5 from Rhianna

David is home and resting. They let him out early because his pain was manageable. He will be doing daily blood thinner shots for a few weeks, and he will have physical therapy come to his house. He has a long road to walking on his leg again, but he is determined to get back on his feet to provide for his family. Thank you all for the prayers and donations.

He is out of surgery. They were not able to fix the nerve damage. His foot wants to stay in a downward position. This could be permanent, but they won’t know until everything is healed. They were able to get the knuckle of the tibia back together with screws and plates. He is in a lot of pain, but he is doing ok. Thank you for all the prayers.

If you feel lead to donate, it would be a huge blessing. Even if it is $5, it would add up. 20 people donating $5 would be $100. The money will be used to cover rent, power, and other necessities. His wife, Katlyn, is working, and she has taken over time hours, but it will not cover all living expenses. They are trying to get help any way they can, but they have had some road blocks. Many of the family members back home are tag teaming with the kids, so she can still work and be there for David. They had a great schedule before all of this. David would work during the day, and she would head to work when he got home. We just need to get them through these hard few months until David can get back to work.

so far David still has not had his 2nd surgery due to swelling. We are so grateful for all the donations and prayers, please continue to share and pray for a speedy recovery so David can get back to a normal life. Than you all.

David should have his 2nd surgery tomorrow at 2PM on the 29th of August depending on his swelling. Thank you everyone for the donations and prayers. All donations will only be used for necessities.

Thank you to everyone that has donated so far the support means a lot to David and his family.

David is out of his first surgery currently in a lot of pain and resting. He will need a second surgery within the next upcoming weeks depending on how his leg is healing. As of now they are saying he will not be able to bear any weight for at least 3 months and probably will not be able to drive. The donations will help offset the income he will miss from not being able to work. Please continue to share this and spread his story with friends and family. Our brother and friend, David Shields, has suffered a leg injury that is requiring emergency surgery and will cause him to miss work for an unknown length of time. David is the primary source of income for his family which includes his wife, Katlyn Leong Shields, and their four small children. Although David works hard to provide for his family, he does not have medical insurance or disability insurance. If you know David personally, then you know that he is the first person to offer a helping hand to anyone in need whether it be changing a tire or moving a piece of furniture.
