Update: The Vet said that doing both legs a once would cause to much stress on her. So thanks to all the wonderful people that donated for her surgery on first leg. Now I have to get the same surgery on her other leg. I want to be honest and open, that's why I didn't start a new fundraiser, but just added the the amount for the 2nd surgery. I want my happy energetic baby back. She can only walk a few blocks before we have to turn around, because she in pain. People tell me to stop walking her, but I feel like I'm punishing for being injured. She loves her walks.
Hello, my name is Khay and I'm fundraising for surgery costs for my 13 month old puppy.
Last year was a trying time for me. The love of my life completed suicide in front of me. I now suffer from PTSD. I was lost and numb after my experience. I saw Brownie on a Facebook post stating Trying to rehome before surrendering to the pound. Brownie is a pitbull/lab mix. You can say we needed each other. When I got her she was 10 weeks old and weighed 4.1 lbs. When I took to the vet they thought she was a Chihuahua. She was so small. The vet was honest with me about her chances which were not great, but my little lady was a born fighter. The first week I had her, I had to drop her off every morning and pick her up every evening for treatment. She was getting dewormed everyday it seemed for the first week. I honestly thought I rescued her but she rescued me. She became my emotional support dog, especially because we were both fighting to survive on our own journey.
She made it through her first year, now it's a battle again for both of us to stay together. Financially I can't afford to get her the surgery that she needs, but I also can't lose her. I might need her more than she needs me.
Trying to weather the storm.
