Help Mohammad's Family Rebuild Their Lives After Gaza's War

Hi world
Please read this as if I’m a member of your family—your brother, son, or a close friend—and as if my family, who are facing unimaginable hardships, are your own.

My name is Mohammed. I’m a software developer, a profession I’m deeply passionate about. Every day, I dedicate myself to programming, driven by a love for technology and innovation. Here are some photos of me at work, where I strive to build a better future for my family.

But since the war on Gaza began, my family and I have endured unimaginable losses. We are a family of ten: my parents, three brothers (Hussien, Youssef, and myself), five sisters (Hala, Jana, Farah, Saja, and Shatha), and my mother, Nisreen. Our lives were shattered in an instant, and the future we once dreamed of now feels like a distant memory.

My mother, Nisreen, is the heart of our family. She’s battling cancer, and her treatment in Egypt is our only hope. We need to be by her side during this difficult time, to support her through her treatment and ensure she doesn’t face this battle alone.

On December 6th, our home in Gaza was destroyed by a rocket. In one devastating moment, we lost not only our house but also our sense of security and normalcy. Since then, we’ve been displaced multiple times, moving from one temporary shelter to another, all while living in constant fear and uncertainty.

My father, Thaer, worked in renewable energy, dedicating his life to creating a sustainable future for others. Now, he’s heartbroken, watching his family torn apart and our dreams destroyed. His hope, like ours, is to reunite our family in Egypt and find stability once again.

Despite everything, my mother’s fight against cancer keeps me motivated to find a way out for my family. We need to evacuate Gaza and move to Egypt, where my mother can continue her treatment and where we can start to rebuild our lives. However, crossing the Rafah border comes with a steep cost—around $5,000 per person. For our family of ten, the total amount we need to raise is substantial but essential for our survival and future.

Here’s how the money will be spent:
  • $50,000: Crossing the Rafah border for all ten family members ($5,000 per person).
  • $4,500: GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).
  • $8,000: Housing costs in Egypt for a period of time.
  • $16,000: Educational costs for my siblings (school for Youssef, Saja, Jana, and Farah; university for Shatha, Hussien, and Hala).
Total amount needed: $78,500

I’m not just asking for your sympathy—I’m asking for your help. Every dollar you contribute can save a life, bring hope to a weary heart, and secure a future for my siblings and me. Please read this with your heart and take action, whether by donating or sharing our story with others who might be able to help. Imagine this is your family—your mother, your siblings—facing these dire circumstances.

Your support can make a world of difference for us, turning our tragedy into a story of survival and hope.

Thank you for reading, and for any help you can provide.
