Help Doug keep his home!

UPDATE****

M.E. here! The doctors have figured out that Doug has a pretty nasty infection in his leg and he is having emergency surgery today 8-15-23 to try to remove the infection before sepsis can occur.

I will keep this updated.

Hello everyone, this is Doug here. First off I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has donated. The only reason I still have my house is because your charity.

Unfortunately, I have had a major setback. I have done something to my right leg. To the point that, even with a crutch I can't take care of myself. I am currently in a rehabilitation center, and I have had to turn my uber rental so now I have zero income and I'm still around $2,000 short for paying it off.

I am NOT asking for those who have donated to do it again (if you feel so moved, I won't argue. ). Instead I ask that you circulate this and encourage others to donate as well.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Doug

Hello!

M.E. here. I’d like to tell you a story about a friend of mine. Like what may befall anyone, he has fallen on hard times. Life doesn’t seem to be giving him much of a break, and our government assistance programs rarely benefit men who are unmarried. So, I am asking for help for him.

Here’s why:
A few years ago, my friend, Doug Collins, had to file for bankruptcy. He is now at the end of the bankruptcy but is short of completely paying it in full. After coming so close to his goal of paying off the bankruptcy in full, I would hate to see him lose his house after already paying 98%. He is only short on his payments due to circumstances outside of his control. For a little over a year now, he has struggled with his physical and mental health. He is in treatment for both, thanks to the VA. Some contributing factors making him short are:
• The death of his mother.
• A hole in the bottom of his foot-which could have possibly ended in amputation.
• The loss of his job because of the doctor’s recommendation of not bearing weight on his foot.
• The delayed title transfer of his mother’s vehicle to him after her passing which led to it being repossessed in the confusion. So no reliable transportation.
• The denial of disability benefits by the government.

And the list goes on.
Doug is a very caring individual who donates his time to the 4-H Programs as often as he can to help kids learning leathercraft - his passion. He is a Veteran, having served us and our country in the United States Marine Corps for eight years, four active, four reserves, and one year abroad in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. He is a member of Cavarts where he joins his fellow Veterans who spreads joy through the community through their art.

If you have a few dollars to spare so we can help get him on his feet and keep him from losing his home, I know he would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to give.

Very Respectfully,
M.E.
