Hello Dance Enthusiast, my name is Sheila!

 

I am one of the Barre Ballerina's who support the amazing team at the Ballet Lounge. We are a Vancouver Based Dance Studio who specializes in Adult Ballet & Fitness! We have fun learning how to dance while getting fit, building confidence and making friends!

 

 

 

As many of you know, The Ballet Lounge is an inclusive studio filled with passionate people who make dance fun and accessible to everyone!  The BL Team has given their sweat and tears in order to stay in alive during these unprecedented times. Everyday, you hear how small businesses have barely hung on and we are no exception.  We would not still be here without the support of our amazing BL Community, who have adapted with us as we quickly introduced Virtual classes.

 

To add to the challenges of numerous lock downs and bans on dancing, we have recently encountered a major set back. Our studio was flooded which has caused over $50,000 in damages.  We now have to replace our entire professional sprung dance floor. Even though the water damage was not our fault, we  have to pay a $15,000 deductible in order to start renovations.  The pandemic has been very hard on us, and this is has caused additional financial strain for our small (but mighty) studio. We want to DANCE ON as we strive to maintain a wonderful space for our students.

 

Anyone who dances with us knows that our Owner & Founder Suzy Q, has put so much of her sparkle in order to create magic at The Ballet Lounge.  Suzy, Natalie and the Team have worked hard to keep dance alive in Vancouver, even when it can only be Virtual at times.

 

During this scary time in a Pandemic when many Dance Studios have disappeared forever, Suzy and our passionate Team have done their very best to be here for your mental and physical well being.  

 

We are hoping that our amazing community might be able to share a little of their Sparkle with us!

 

We want the community to DANCE ON into the new year on a New Floor! Our goal is to reach out and ask you to please get involved.  This includes the Dance Community of Vancouver, those who love the arts and those who understand the importance of health and fitness.

 

The Ballet Lounge is looking for contributions so we may achieve our goal of raising $9000 of the $15,000 deductible. We also ask that anyone to please use your energy & passion to share this with anyone who loves the arts & fitness.

 

As we face another mandated In-Studio closure, Suzy has given so much to ensure we still have an inclusive place to learn to dance Virtually. We hope to use this time to replace the floor (or at least get 1 step closer) so none of our dancers have to miss a beat!

 

We are a home and family to many! We want to DANCE ON, without sacrificing the high quality experience we have always offered!

 

We love our Dancers, our City and our Dance Family! If you can please send a little sparkle and help in anyway, it would mean the world to us.  This will not only insure you all have a floor to DANCE ON, it will also keep us dancing through the pandemic and beyond!
