Support Dan Johnson and Family

As many of you know, on March 30th, 2019 Dan Johnson suffered a serious heart attack and ultimately underwent a life-saving procedure. During the lengthy procedure, Dan experienced a lack of oxygen to his brain which resulted in a significant traumatic brain injury. Thankfully, Dan was strong enough to make it through the procedure and still be with us today. After nearly 2 months in the hospital, Dan was transferred to a short-term rehabilitation facility in New Jersey where he underwent intense therapy care for a little over a month. Currently, Dan is being cared for at a long-term rehabilitation facility in Smithtown, NY.
Dan is a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Anyone that knows him would agree that he is easily the most talkative and personable man in any room. As the oldest sibling, Dan’s favorite thing to do is spend time with those that he loves the most- his family, watching Wedding Crashers and Remember the Titans on repeat. Not only is he the best husband to his wife Doreen, but he is also the best father to his daughter, Ali. Dan is very involved in Ali’s lacrosse world and has always been the best and most supportive parent to her. He was also very involved in the Longwood Girls Lacrosse program where Ali played for countless years growing up, starting as her youth coach and eventually her #1 fan in the bleachers as she became older. Ali is going into her senior year on the Adelphi Women’s Lacrosse team where Dan has cheered the girls on to 2 National Championship titles while cementing his status as one of the teams loudest and biggest fans. It is not surprising that he has made it to nearly every single game over the last 3 years, no matter how far.
Personally, I have known Dan and the Johnson family for almost a decade. The second you walked into the room Dan was always the one that would make you feel the most at home. His kindness and love of life are what makes him such an amazing person, even now as he continues on his journey to recovery.
This GoFundMe page was set up on behalf of Doreen, Ali, and the entire Johnson family to assist with the costs of Dan’s medical care that will not be covered under insurance; especially as this health complication was very sudden and unexpected. Most importantly, the goal of this page is to share Dan’s updates and overall information with the many people that know and love Dan just as much as those closest to him do.
