On 9/9/25, I had to take my 4-year-old Siberian Husky, Kylo, to the emergency vet because he had pale gums, low breathing, a swollen stomach, and was not eating. The vets did bloodwork, X-rays, and drained some fluid, then referred me to MedVet in Chicago, where he needs to see an internal medicine specialist. His body is not making nutrients, and it's pulling the nutrients from his intestines, which is resulting in fluid buildup in his stomach. They said an internal medicine specialist will be able to determine what the cause is and what treatment he will need for recovery. MedVet said I am looking at $4,000-$6,000 based on the high and low end of costs. The doctors made it very clear this can be fatal for Kylo, if not treated. I couldn't be approved for a care credit card, so I'm asking for the community's help. My daughter, myself, and his litter brother Koda are all hoping for a good outcome from this situation we’re in now. All funds will go directly to Kylo's testing and care needed to get him back on the road to recovery.
