Hi, my name is James and I'm currently struggling to find work to pay bills... rent, food, electri, and gas.
I suffer from neuropathy, a nerve disease that effects my feet, legs and hands. It's very painful to stand, walk, climb stairs and drive. I've had 3 heart procedures and was in a coma due to sepsis that attacked my cervical spine. Had a plate screwed to fuse my neck together, a pericardial window to drain fluid around my heart and 2 ablations.
Crazy ride but I remain positive, and hopeful. I had to learn to walk again after my neck surgery but with the assistance of Kessler rehabilitation center I was able to overcome.
I'm facing eviction but was blessed to postpone that for the rest of this month. I am searching for employment that doesn't require a lot of standing and walking due to my neuropathy. I'll take any job that I can physically do but over the past couple months, I have not been successful.
I hate being in this position and have never been my entire life. I'm 53 with a 14 year old daughter. Work IS my ultimate goal. Right now I'm struggling to keep a roof over my head, food on the table, lights and gas, and hopefully get a car one day to drive to and from work.
I'm asking for help as winter is here, so I'm swallowing my pride as many have suggested. I know I can overcome this situation with help. I understand that times are tough for everyone right now but once I'm back on my feet, I will pay it forward.
God bless all of you and I hope you have a fantastic new year.
