Atwater Little League needs the community's help!

Atwater Little League (ALL) was hit with a major catastrophe last night that will have a significant impact on the upcoming season. Last night, a fire was started in the portable bathrooms, which spread to the Connex box used to store the lawn mower, Mule UTV, field maintenance equipment (field dragging bars, chalking machines, tools) and other miscellaneous Atwater Little League items and all items were a total loss.

ALL has provided the community with a fun, safe environment for children of our community to experience the joys of baseball and softball for many generations. We have done so with low increases to our fees, taking into consideration the accessibility for all members of our community and striving to cover the costs of uniforms, equipment and overhead without exorbitant extra fluff. We have also always operated without any parent-driven fundraisers, relying solely on our Snack Shack funds and amazing community donation as operational support. This has sufficed for regular maintenance of equipment and fields and we have been able to get through with what we have had. However, now facing major losses and significant replacement fees for larger items, we need your help.

We have been in touch with insurance and are figuring out what they will replace and to what amounts. We know, though, that with our outdated equipment, the replacement amount will not cover what it will take to replace what we need for the kids.

We are, therefore, reaching out to you, our community, to ask for help to replace these items in the short time we have before the league is scheduled to begin. All funds will go directly to replacing the vital equipment lost in the fire and getting our kids on the fields.

Approximate costs based on estimates received thus far:

UTV replacement: $8,000

Lawn Mower replacement: $4,000

Connex Box: $4,000

Pitching Mound: $1,000

Chalking Equipment: $500

Misc. Field Equipment: $500
