On Wednesday night, I came home from work and found my cat, Finn, lying limp on the bathroom floor. His breathing was shallow, and he could barely meow. I rushed him to the urgent care vet, and as soon as they saw him, they sent me straight to the emergency hospital — he had a urinary obstruction, which is often fatal if not treated immediately.

By the time we got there, Finn’s heart rate was dangerously low, and his bladder was close to bursting. The vet team worked on him right away, and after what felt like forever, they were able to stabilize him and place a catheter to relieve the pressure.

Finn is now fighting to recover in the hospital. He’ll need to stay there for at least three days, possibly longer, so they can keep his bladder draining and make sure his kidneys recover safely.

I’m doing everything I can for him, but the emergency care and hospitalization costs are already adding up fast — and as much as I wish I could cover it all, I just can’t do it alone.
