We are the Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren of John Holland. A retired World War II Disabled Veteran from the United States Army. During his time in the service he earned a bronze star and two purple hearts for his actions in Germany and Italy. Our Grandfather is the most kind and caring man, who would do anything to help anyone. On December 25, 2015 he left his home to visit family next door when his house unexpectedly caught fire. It took five fire department and over two hours to finally subdue the flames. He had built his home himself in 1953 and has spent 66 years of making memories and raising generations of Hollands. His house was a total loss except for a handful of pictures and some personal valuables. We are asking for help to rebuild his home. The amount of insurance on his home will not adequately cover rebuilding his home and the sustainability for the future. The money we raise will go toward the rebuild of our Grandfather’s home and helping with his living expenses while his home is being rebuilt. Raising this money means so much to our family because he is the backbone of our family and a friend to everyone he meets. For years he has helped, nurtured, and loved everyone unconditionally. He has given us everything we ever needed no matter the circumstance, it is our time to repay him and get him back into his own home and back to his normal life.
