Holmes Family Medical Fund

I created this account in hopes of helping my friend/colleague Keona Holmes and her family.

If you know Keona, she is a beautiful, smart and outgoing personality (in that order haha) but she is also one of the STRONGEST people I know. We have been friends for about a decade now and what a lot of people don’t know is behind her bubbly and headstrong appearance, she has been helping her hubby deal with his cancer while also taking care of their two young children. Her husband Terrance has been battling cancer on and off for majority of the time I’ve known them and even before then. They are not the type who want people to feel sorry for them and they do not like asking for help.  However, the reason why I am asking for your help is because Terrance has been severely sick this time around with the cancer. He had surgery a few months ago to remove the new tumors but the surgery had setbacks that resulted in additional surgeries which included removing majority of his esophagus.
Terrance has been on a feeding tube since he came home in October and is trying to gain weight back with medical formula. Unfortunately, the medical formula he needs is not covered by insurance and they are paying out of pocket.

Keona has researched and the cheapest cost for the formula is $180 per case from the manufacturer. He requires a case every 5 days and they do not know how long he will be on the feeding tube. If you do the math, you can understand how this is affecting their finances.

Terrence feels bad that he’s unable to work but we just need him to focus on gaining weight and getting his strength back so he can hopefully get off the feeding tube. I know this is hard on him as a young husband and father but he is a fighter and we can help him with his battle. Keona is doing everything she can to be there for her hubby yet at the same time making sure her kids are living a normal life as possible.  She has been doing this for awhile but she cannot do it by herself. This isn’t even a fraction of everything they’ve been through with his diagnosis the past 10+ years. There have been so many surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments. The past few years they have been driving back and forth from Jax to Miami because they found a provider there who is still willing to help him. They keep fighting the battle and we need to continue to uplift them. 

Please consider any donation you can. I put the goal at 10k but we really don’t know what they need in the long run. They definitely need help with the costs of the medical formula right now.
