Hi everyone!
We started this GoFundMe to help support Becca with medical expenses related to her recent cancer diagnosis.
Becca has proudly served with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) for 5 years and is currently a part of the Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) in the Steele Creek Division. In the world of first responders, patches are HUGE! With the help of Ghost Patch, Becca now has a custom patch of her own—an emblem that symbolizes her strength and determination. Having this patch means a great deal to her family and her close-knit work family as they stand by her side through this journey.
She wants to make sure it’s clear that this is just one of two ways you can show support!
The first way is through this GoFundMe, and the second is by purchasing one of her awesome support patches (more are coming soon!).
There is absolutely no pressure to do both—your love, encouragement, and support mean the world, no matter how you choose to show it.
More patches will be restocked soon, and we’ll post updates here and on social media as soon as they’re available!
Feel free to share! Orders over $49 get free shipping so link up with friends!
Becca’s Battle: Staying Strong, Staying Silly
There are a few things I’m certain of in life:
Life is meant to be filled with joy and love.
The bad days never last.
And while life can be unfair, God makes no mistakes.
I’m 28 years old. I’m active, I’m strong, I live a healthy lifestyle. And yet, I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer.
At the time of my diagnosis—and still today—I am, arguably, the fittest I’ve ever been. Beyond working out, I have prioritized my mental health. I’ve done all the things to try and prevent something like this from happening. So while cancer showed up anyway, I know I’ve built a strong foundation to face this—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Cancer doesn’t care about your age, your habits, your mindset.
It doesn’t discriminate.
It doesn’t play fair.
I found a lump during a self-exam right before I traveled to D.C. for the Inauguration. I trusted my gut and went to the doctor when I got home—and that decision saved my life. So if you take anything from this, let it be this: Do your self-checks. Know your body. Speak up if something feels off. If you don’t know how? Google it. Ask someone. Early detection saves lives!
I don’t want pity, and “I’m sorry.” That stuff doesn’t beat cancer—and frankly, I don’t have room on the roster for it. This is unfair. But that’s life. And God clearly knows I’m capable of this, so I have to believe it too.
I’ve already completed two out of six rounds of chemo. Each day has brought new challenges—but I’ve also witnessed firsthand that bad days don’t last. With each moment of suck, I quickly turn the corner and am reminded that it could always be worse. There’s always something to be thankful for!
Chemo is just the beginning. After this comes surgery, radiation, and continued immunotherapy. My treatment journey will take about a year. It’s a long road—but it’s just a season. There are so many chapters of my life still to write. This diagnosis isn’t just affecting my body—it’s threatening dreams I’ve carried for years.
One of the biggest hurdles I’m facing is preserving my fertility.
As a young woman, I’ve always dreamed of having a family someday. But chemotherapy and treatment can severely impact fertility—and unfortunately, fertility preservation is not covered by insurance.
That means egg retrieval, storage, and related procedures are all out-of-pocket—and they’re expensive. This GoFundMe isn’t just about helping me survive this year. It’s about helping me preserve the future I’ve always envisioned.
Your donation will help cover:
Fertility preservation (egg retrieval, storage, appointments, etc.)
• Ongoing medical bills and treatment
• Time off work and travel for appointments
• Recovery and healing support along the way
In the meantime, catch me still hitting the gym, finding the joy in life, staying silly, and jamming (loudly and unapologetically) to Creed and Nickelback.
Your support—near or far, big or small—means the world. Whether it’s a kind word, a prayer, a donation, or just sending good vibes my way, thank you for showing up.
Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others.
Take care of your body. Take no shit.
And stay f*cking strong.
