Hi, I am Lucy Teaford.
My classmates, Hannah Kim, Hannah Romberg, Julia Doehl, Morgan Silverman, and I go to Romig Middle School, and we created a website entry for the National History Day (NHD) contest. Our website focused on the Nineteenth Amendment and the voting rights of American women. We won at our school, Anchorage School District, and Alaska state levels, so we have the opportunity to travel to the national competition (June 15-19) in Washington, D.C. However, the airfare, room and board, meals, entrance fee, and all other costs have to be paid by the students and their parents. Therefore, each child and their family, if they wish to travel to D.C., is responsible for seeking out arrangements and paying for the trip. To pay for myself, I am reaching out to family and friends through GoFundMe. I learned a lot about the women's suffrage movement through this project, and I am excited to represent Romig Middle School and the State of Alaska in a national competition. Please help me raise money for this important, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Thank you.
I will invest any money raised that I don't spend on the trip into my college savings account.
