We are Kelsey’s close coworkers, and we have started this fundraiser on her behalf. Kelsey has always been a source of kindness, generosity, and strength in our workplace and in her community. Today, we want to rally around her the way she has always shown up for others.

Early yesterday morning, tragedy struck when Kelsey’s home caught fire. In a matter of moments, she, her family, and their beloved pets — including their sweet dog Sugar and a cat — were left without a place to call home. While we are so grateful everyone made it out safely, the devastation has left them unable to return and facing an uncertain road ahead.

Kelsey is a special education teacher in her city, known by everyone around her as someone who gives endlessly of herself. She is the kind of person who always puts others first — her students, her colleagues, her friends, and her family. Her compassion, patience, and empathy shine through in everything she does. Now, in this moment of heartbreak, she is the one in need of support.

We are asking for donations to help Kelsey and her family with immediate needs — safe housing, clothing, food, and care for their animals — as well as to begin the long process of rebuilding what was lost. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and remind them that they are not alone as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
