Help Attend Stanford National Forensic Institute!
Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time out of your day to look at my page! I am excited to announce that I was recently accepted to the Stanford National Forensic Insitute for the summer of 2018; I will be debating with the Stanford Debate Society along with other top debaters across the country!
Why do I debate?
Debates are commonly described as two sides opposing sides of an argument attempting to prove the other side wrong. While this is somewhat true, just like all of our English teachers assure us that there is not one finite answer to an inquiry in class, I similarly believe that the same holds true in a debate. Having an open dialogue about domestic and foreign affairs enables us to exchange values and ideas that help us better ourselves in our everyday lives.
I personally desire to apply the skills that I learn in debate to initiate communication on issues impacting African Americans and the global black community while I am in college and beyond. Overall, I think that debate is one of many platforms that motivates future African American youth evolving into the 21st century.
The deadline for funds is due on June 25.
