EVOE
After Euripides's Bacchae
Evoe is a devised adaptation of Euripides's Bacchae, an ancient story with a modern flair. Dionysus seeks his revenge on the king of Thebes, Pentheus, for denying Dionysus's divinity and besmirching his mother's name with scandalous lies.
Dionysus's all-female cult of worshippers, the Maenads, brings intoxication and celebration to Thebes, undermining the young king's authority and leading his sister, Agave, on a journey of discovery and liberation.
Performances will take place in the Samuel Beckett Theatre on January 29th-31st 2025. All funds raised will go directly towards the production, and will primarily be used in the costume and set departments. We are incredibly grateful for any and all donations
This is a student production as part of TCD Drama Department Capstone projects. Directed by Samuel Ferrie and starring Aoife Kavanagh, Alex Greene, Fionnán Morley, Áine Rogers, Jessie Byrne, and Loulou Mac Hale.
