On May 29, 2016, my wife Brenda and I were in a head on collusion. A 20 year old young man, fell asleep behind the wheel losing control of the car and hit us head on at approximately 60 mph. My wife, Brenda flatlined several times before reaching Grady Memorial Hospital. She suffered from several injuries including, broke sternum, several rib breaks, shattered pelvis, broke leg in several places, 2 broke ankles, and a severally bruised and enlarged heart. She was on life support and in a coma for several weeks. She never made it home and will live out her remaining time in Pruitt of Griffin nursing home, unable to walk, several heart surgies, and Alzheimers from the trauma. I, Wayne and many call me Popa, had to be cut out the car and life flighted. I suffered from a broke arm that was repaired surgically, had shoulder surgery, broke several ribs, slight break in lumbar spine, was kept in an induced coma on a breathing machine at Atlanta Medical Center. I was transferred to an acute ICU hospital to work on trying to come off ventilator. Since then I have had several falls rebreaking ribs, and a hospital stay with a severe infection from wreck, and diagnosed PTSD from the trauma. Both my wife and I are 100% disabled from the wreck. I also have previous heart problems with a pace maker and defibulater. It has taken nearly 2yrs for the dust to settle to see how all this would pan out. We were not able to sue the young man due to the fact he had nothing no assets. We were able from car insurance to replace the car. I was terminated from my job, even though now I know my health will not allow me to work. Losing my wifes income to the nursing home, and my income gone, and awaiting for the long process of getting SSDI and medical insurance I am left in a huge financial bind. I take several meds a day, and I am under the care of several doctors all with no insurance. Currently, we are severly in debt and behind in our housing bills/utilities, medical bills that are mountaining, and nursing home expenses for my wife. If you or someone you know would like to donate to help my wife and I, it would be so greatly appreciated. If not would you consider sharing the campaign on your social media platforms? I have always been a hard worker working in the freight industry for 40 years. I would have never thought something like this would happen nor could prepare for something that has been so detrimental to my family. Thank you for your time in reading.
