Helping Hunter
Donation protected
Hunter is a 9 month old energetic Labrador.
Two days ago whilst out on a walk with his owner he had an accident with a stick. The stick penetrated his oesophagus and he was rushed into emergency surgery. He remains in a specialist Vet hospital whilst the team try to save his life. He is very poorly and is heavily sedated.
The next few days will be critical to see if Hunters body can cope with all the surgery and not reject. If he pulls through the next few days, he has a long period of recovery ahead, being cared for in the hospital for at least the next 7 - 10 days.
So far his Vet bill has come to £7,500. Hunter is insured but it does not cover anywhere near this amount.
This fundraising effort is to help Hunters family pay the large Vets bill that is expected to be in excess of £12,000.
Hunter is a special dog. I own Hunters mum Tilly. Hunter was hand reared from birth as his mum was too poorly to feed him. Hunter, along with his other 8 siblings, was hand fed every two hours throughout the first few weeks of his life. It was a full time job. Miraculously, Hunter and all of his brothers and sisters did well and eventually went off to live with wonderful families.
Our dear friends Jo and Gareth helped us feed these puppies when they were days old and fell in love with Hunter. They decided to offer him a home as a best friend for their son Jack. Jack and Hunter are inseparable. Hunter also has two dog brothers, Newfoundlands, Yogi and Baxter. Baxter is a rescue dog and suffers from Separation Anxiety. He is best friends with Hunter who has helped Baxter settle. Since Hunter has gone into hospital, Baxter is very anxious and is constantly pacing around the house.
The whole family are distraught about what has happened to Hunter.
Jack is the only child of Jo and Gareth and is distraught at the fact of maybe not seeing Hunter, his best friend again.
Hopefully by way of doing this fundraiser, if i can help ease the financial burden, it will help them all have one less thing to worry about at this very sad time.
Please help all you can. Thank you. Nikki
