Jensen Family

Welcome family and friends of Shawn, Leah, Becca and Liam Jensen. As you may know, due to complications from diabetes, Shawn recently underwent a life altering surgery for bilateral below the knee amputations. Like many of us, Leah is a busy Mom that works full time, is managing Liam’s last year at the middle school and preparing to send Becca to college in the Fall.  As you can imagine, her head is spinning thinking about the many challenges ahead as she will now be the sole provider and caretaker for her family. Through the past few weeks I have been completely taken by her strength and devotion...she is amazing!

With little family to rely on, it is our hope that our community will join in the effort to alleviate the overwhelming financial burden of Shawn’s long term care. There are many uninsured medical costs including the $14,000 emergency expense to medflight Shawn home from a business trip in Chicago for his surgery in Boston. Most importantly, there is the massive expense of converting their home to be handicap accessible and a vehicle to accommodate Shawn’s lifelong needs.
