Guatemala Mission Trip

February 2020, our family will be traveling to Antigua, Guatemala with our church, Calvary Wolfeboro. While there, we will be serving and loving on the people of Guatemala in a few different ways.
Specifically, we will be spending time visiting a school, an orphanage, and a village called Tabacal in the jungle about 2 hours outside of Antigua. In all of these places, our hope is to bring the love and encouragement of Christ through music, VBS, and simply our physical and spiritual presence. We will have opportunities to make improvements to the school buildings, and possibly the church as well. In years past we have done food distributions, providing staples with long shelf-lives to families.
We will also be taking several Audio Bibles with us from Audio Scripture Ministries to distribute to families in Tabacal. Many Guatemalans are not literate, and depend largely on an oral tradition for their histories and spiritual beliefs. These Audio Bibles will be dual-language, having both Spanish and the Mayan language native to the area, Cakchiquel. In many instances, this will likely be the first opportunity for these families to have their own copy of the scriptures that they can interact with personally!
There is a Calvary Chapel (a sister church of ours) in Antigua, and we will be worshiping with them the Sunday that we are there. We are so excited to have the opportunity to go! We have traveled to Guatemala in years past with our church in Michigan, but only one or two of us at a time. This year, all five Grays are going! Because of this, and with a trip cost of $1800/person, we are hoping many of you will want to partner with us as we seek to raise a majority of the funds required to make the trip happen.
