Over a year ago Jesse Gómez started a journey that was never expected to last so long.
In January of 2019 he had his first surgery, followed by a second surgery in November. In December he had a 10 day hospital stay, but in January of this year, he returned to the hospital for 6 weeks in ICU.
His battle has included 16 days in a medical induced coma, bilateral pulmonary embolisms, a collapsed lung, hole in his stomach as well as 8 chest tubes to drain infections. He had become septic as well.
All this time Sonia has been at his side and now is caring for Jesse at home, where he will be to off work for a couple of more months doing physical therapy & working to regain strength and health.
Jesse has served as a police officer for 25 years with various police departments in the Denver Metro area as well as working with the US Marshal.
Jesse has given much to many, including serving in the Iraq War. He has received the purple heart and worked as a medic.
As a father of 5 and grandfather of 3 he is an important part of many lives.
This extended health struggle has been a financial burden with many weeks remaining before he can return to work.
Sonia has also been off work to care for him, and the medical expenses as well as everyday living costs are piling up.
Anything you can give to help lesson the financial burdens will be greatly appreciated and will help reduce the worry of the mounting expenses.
Thank you!
