UPDATE:
June 29 - new plan is a combo of radiation and dialysis, then operation. Her radiation mask doesn't fit any more, dialysis continues but radiation is delayed until they find a way to decrease size of mom's stomach and previous mask can be used OR new mask will need to be made (delay of 1week yet again).
July 5 - Scheduled start of radiation was today, July 5 - postponed again. Mom was rushed to the hospital because of difficulty in breathing. Thank Jesus, negative for COVID but there is liquid in her lungs. Once she stabilizes, concurrent radiation and dialysis commence. We ask for your continued prayers. July 4, I spoke to my mom and she was resolute in fighting to get better.
July 7 - Sedated since Monday when she was rushed due to difficulty in breathing. Had since 2 dialysis to keep her creatinine up to par to radiation requirements. They suspect mass has reached her lungs - nothing is certain but likely. Heart and lungs are being monitored to rule out any complications before they take the next step to stabilize her condition and ultimately commence cancer treatment.
July 9 - She is awake and breathing has improved. She will continue dialysis but will be monitored for about a week or so before any plan for radiation can commence.
July 15 - Still very weak from her confinement but slowly slowly getting better. Unfortunately, initial treatment payments we have made are flushed and NEW treatment plan is introduced, IMRT and using a Stereotactic Bag instead of a 'mask' . Dialysis still continues until her creatinine levels normalize. Once her swab comes in this Saturday, preparations for treatment can commence.
Aug 4 - Some good news! After weeks and endless dialysis sessions, her creatinine levels and hemoglobin are near normal. Dialysis finally halted. She undergone urostomy to drain urine which was the culprit of her creatinine issues (no kidney problems). Waiting on possible chemo/radiation to target the mass that has travelled to her urinary tract and once these problems are addressed, she will commence with 25 radiation treatments as planned.
Sept 21 - from August to September, main focus was to treat everything that has been causing delays. She's been resting with two urine bags to help with her creatine levels and breathing issues have been resolved. I knew she felt better after all that she had to undergo as she was starting to complain that her skin is rough and she had so many wounds from the injections - typical mom. The Doctors asked her to stay home for two weeks to recover from all the treatments she has undertaken in a short while before they commence radiation planning and treatments. Last week, they took their swab and lab tests before they come in for their appointment with her doctors (this has been the routine every appointment). Tests show good hemoglobin and creatinine, Monday it was advised that she needs to be confined for a few days because of a small urine issue and needs blood transfusion (shoutout to our blood donors yet again! Maraming salamat!) Today Sept 21, we found out - she is COVID positive yet again. Asymptomatic but this further delays her fight against the Big C.

We had hoped we wouldn’t have to do this, but with medical bills accumulating over the past year, we are asking for your help.
Our mom's story started in December 2019 when she was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in the Philippines. Her doctors decided that they weren’t able to operate because the mass was too big to be taken out. BUT, it was treatable and a treatment plan was put into place with an intent to take out this tumor and cure her altogether.
She completed 28 grueling sessions of radiotherapy and 9 sessions of chemotherapy - all during the pandemic and whilst actually having coronavirus herself in March 2021. She attended all her appointments together with her husband, Leonard. Due to COVID restrictions, patient and companion are required to take swab tests every so often for the appointments - this added to the financial burden and delays.
Unexpected discharges often happen as well, which setbacks her appointments as she'd need blood transfusions and most recently, her tests show high creatinine which require her to undergo dialysis to stabilize before she can resume 25 radiation treatments and surgery.
June 2021, we are at Stage 4 - on an aggressive stage but most definitely treatable case. Time is of the essence and treatments need to happen to stop tumor from metastasizing further.
We thank our family for the support and we thank YOU in advance for your prayers and generosity.
