Abby’s heart surgery

my niece Abby is having heart surgery this week when she had her yearly check up last year her Dr. wanted her to get an echocardiogram because he wanted to check her heart murmur. So we had an appointment at Altru and they sent the results to Mayo. After they looked at the results, they got back to her Dr. who told her parents that she will need to have her heart murmur repaired as well as fixing a valve in her heart that didn't close after she was born. So she has a ct scan, blood work, electrocardiogram echocardiogram, a chest imaging exam, and a evaluation with a Dr at Mayo on monday. She has to have surgery on Wednesday on her heart to repair the heart murmur and repair the valve. It needs to be repaired before she gets any older so she doesn't have any complications when she is older. they said because of the size and location of the murmur it will need to be repaired. It's called a cardiac catheterization. She will be sedated while they insert a catheter into her inner thigh and repair the things they need to. They said it's typically a quick recovery but we aren't sure as of now what time the procedure will be or how long she will have to stay after to be monitored. Any and everything that is donated will go to help for costs for medical bills, expenses for hotel stays and upcoming doctor visits.
