Dear Family, Friends, and Community,

As many of you are aware my sister Kylie has been hospitalized for almost a month. It all started on Oct 13, when I found Kylie unable to talk or move. Kylie was taken by EMS to the hospital, for what I had hoped to be a minor illness. However, we are now on Day 26 with an unknown diagnosis. Kylie spent three days at the local hospital before being air lifted to Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she remains.

Over the past 3-4 weeks, Kylie has had many ups and downs. She has gone from being unresponsive and being placed on a ventilator to now responding, squeezing hands, moving her feet, and being weaned off the ventilator. On 11/5 Kylie had a tracheotomy performed. Unable to have a peg tube placed, she continues getting fed through an NG tube.

Seeing the progress she is making, her ICU nurses have started calling her "the miracle girl". Although she makes progress daily in small amounts, her road to recovery is nowhere near over. With the unknown duration of her hospital stay or recovery periods any donations would be greatly appreciated. Funds will be used to help maintain Kylie's home, pay her bills, and care for her pets, as well as traveling expenses.
